Happy Reveal Friday from Stuck on U Sketches! This moment is a bitter-sweet moment for me as this is my last reveal for SOUS. This has been an amazing time for me....I have loved every moment working with this amazing team and leaders! I will miss everyone of you, but also look forward to what the future brings!
On with my take on this weeks sketch!
I chose to use Prima's Lyric collection, and made my layout on a 12x12 canvas. The photo features my daughter and son-in-law and their wedding party. I only wanted to use one photo, so I printed it as a 5x7 and cut the height down to make it look more wide screen.
Here is the lovely sketch designed by Leah Schaeffer. This was a fun sketch to work with and I had a blast!
I used I am Roses flowers and dabbed on gesso to soften the look. I painted the edges of the canvas black to frame the layout and I had cut down the back ground paper just a tad so you could see the edges of the canvas. I plan on spraying the canvas with a protector spray, making it easier to wipe off the dust.
I used some ribbon with pearls to finish the edge of the top paper layer, and I added a Prima Junkyard Findings Rose Heart Corner, and just gently touched the rose with pink chalk ink.
I did some fussy cutting from the paper collection quickly achieving a layered look and added a small paper doily behind the clock, and added a tiny cluster of flowers from I am Roses.
I used this cute chippie from Prima's Delight collection and added a few tiny roses from I am Roses. I added some small left over pieces of bling.
For the title, I used Blue Fern Studios Wedding Words. I first primed them with Gesso, and used a variety of pink shades from Glimmer Mists, finishing it off with touches of gesso.
To frame the top layer of pattern paper I used my favourite Martha Stewart border punch! I matted the photo with black cardstock, after I had distessed the edges of the photo with a sanding block giving it a soft worn look.
Well, that's it folks! Please hop on over to the SOUS blog and see what the other designers have created with Leah's sketch! Please gives this sketch a try and link it to the SOUS blog for a chance to have your layout picked for our top 3, and so we can leave you some love!
Stay tuned for some scrappy news from me in the near future!
Be Blessed!
