precious treasure ~SOUS sketch~

Helloooo! Its reveal Friday at Stuck on U Sketches! YAY!!!!!! My favorite Friday! We have another lovely sketch by Sandi Clarkson to share with you and we each have our own interpretation of it! Today I would like to share mine with you! My 2 great nieces, Cassidy and Lucia, are the feature of my layout this week.  You see, they share a birthday with in a short period of time, and Mom did a photo shoot with them in the bathtub full of bubbles! How darling!

I used the Bo Bunny paper collection "Isabella", and they worked perfectly as the photos were already black and white.I haphazardly punched around three sides of the background paper with a MS punch. Doing it this way gives it a distressed ragged look.  I also took my Prima distress tool and with the side that has the rasp I distressed the paper to the point of breaking thru and making holes. I also used some Dusty Attic words and a large Dusty Attic swirly Flourish!

Here is the lovely sketch designed by our beautiful and talented Sandi Clarkson! Please check out her blog for her gorgeous work!

A close up of the I am Roses flowers, and the Prima resin Fairy, and the new wooden Prima bird I painted white with gesso.  I also added touches of gesso to the flowers.

here is a close up of the title, which I painted white with gesso.  I used a Prima chicken wire stencil with moulding paste in random areas of the background paper.

in this close up you can see more how I treated the Dusty Attic flourish. I first painted it with gesso, adding layers at a time, making them thicker in areas and hitting it with my heat gun to get some bubbling. I then used a grey Shimmers and a Pink Glimmer mist and spritzed in various areas, drying with the heat gun.

Just a few close ups of the photos at different angles so you can see more details of the layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look! Please go to the Stuck on U Sketches blog and see what amazing designs the other designers came up with and please try out this sketch and link it back to the blog and you may be in the top 3!

Be blessed and have a Blessed Easter!  He is Risen!

Even Angels ~My Creative Sketches-March/13 sketch~

Hello my scrappy buddies! Today I have the awesome March/13  sketch to reveal from My Creative Sketches! I am using Bo Bunny 's Isabella collection and a photo of my great niece Lucia! A perfect match if you ask me!

Lucia's Mom did a photo shoot of  Lucia and her sister Cassidy in the tub having a bubble bath! They both have a birthday around the same time and this was for their birthday photos. Lucia has just turned 2!

Here is the awesome sketch designed by Kim Keane!

Here is a close up of the flowers from I am Roses that I used, with some touches of gesso added and threads of cheese cloth tucked all around. I couldn't believe how the pinks matched up so closely to the papers!

Here is a close up of the title I chose. I think you will understand why I chose it!

More I am Roses flowers and little banner tags sticking out from the bottom.

In this photo you can see the machine stitching I did and the ruffling of the paper strips I added under the pinky/cream background paper. Lots of little touches of gesso here and there.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Make sure you go to My Creative Sketches and see what the other designers cooked up with this beauty of a sketch, and see what kind of prize Pam has in store for you if you complete the sketch and link it up to the blog! She is always very generous and has beautiful goodies to give!

beautiful ~SOUS~ Mar 15/13 sketch

Wow! Its been a while since I posted on my blog! I miss one sketch and then BOOM! a month has gone by! Well, I am here now, and excited to share this super duper gorgeous sketch we have for you this reveal Friday at Stuck on U Sketches! I loved everything about it, and knew I would definitely do my best to do it justice!

I been wanting to try ripping for a while so I really wanted to do it on this layout...and I love the layered tattered edges that were produced with this technique! I gave the whole background a white wash, and I wanted to keep it very monochromatic.  I used a new Bo Bunny stamp to make what to me looks like coffee cup rings, which I used gesso for.

Here is the sketch that our wonderfully talented Sandi Clarkson created, inspired by  an equally amazing layout designed by Julie Winks.

I used a Kaiserkraft rubon for the title. It gave me a bit of trouble, but I think it adds to the shabbiness of the layout!

I used a Dusty Attic chippie frame and a doily to highlight the photo of my daughter and her then fiancee, now husband over looking the river.  I painted the DA piece a lighter pink and then did a crackle treatment on it, finishing off with a cream paint.

I used a bit of Prima, the large cream flower and the resin heart. The rest of the flowers are from I am Roses and I colorized them to suit the layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by, your visits and comments mean so much to me! Please go to the SOUS blog and check out what the other designers came up with! I have a sneaky suspicion that you will be super inspired and will want to create your own take of this sketch!
