Family ~Stuck on U Sketches!

Yay! Its reveal Friday at Stuck on U Sketches! This weeks sketch was supposed to be done only using scraps, but I didn't accomplish that part of the sketch.  I've been sick this week so I was just glad I actually got the sketch done!  I had a back flash to the 1980's with this photo my dad found hidden away. This is a photo of my older brother, Brent, me, and my little sister Cheryl [who is all grown up now!]  I love this photo cause it is physical proof that I was once thin and hot! lol

I used the Prima Romance Novel collection that I got from Swirlydoo's awhile back. I just love the colors in this collection!
Here is the cute sketch we got to use created by our own Nanne!

I used all kinds of flowers I had kicking around in my stash.

More flowers, and I used gesso on them as well, and I also used some cheese cloth.

I've had this resin bench from Prima in my stash for quite a while and was glad to finally use it!

I did some masking with a Prima mask and molding paste. I used a piece of a ornate fence from Dusty Attic. I painted it with a heavy layer of gesso and then used my heat gun to quickly dry it, and built up a few more layers like this. Then I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. Love the effect it gave!

just a bunch more close ups!

Handsome boy ~ My Creative Sketches Jan/13 sketch~

Today is the reveal of the first sketch challenge of 2013 at My Creative Sketches! I chose this really cute photo of my great nephew Jacob, and his mom Tracey, to be the feature of this cute sketch by Kim Keane.

I used Prima's Craftsman collection , and kept the layout quite simple, for me anyways!

Here is the sketch by Kim

I made the flower with some of the papers and a Sizzix die, a wooden clock by Prima, a wooden wheel made by Dusty Attic and a decorative key I had kicking around.

I did some hand stitching with brown embroidery thread, some masking with a Prima mask and Tea Dye distress ink. The first part of the title is by Dusty Attic.

I wanted to add a punch of color and used this paintable border by Pink Paislee.  I used some Glimmer Mist to colorize it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my take on the sketch. Please pop by My Creative Sketches blog and see what the other designers have come up with and to see what amazing prize package Pam has come up with for the winner!  Make sure you back link your  take on the sketch in order be eligible!
