"Yummy" ~ My Creative Sketches - August Sketch Challenge

Well, Helloooo Strangers! I hope you all have been having an amazing summer! I have been absent from my blog and scrapping in general for a couple of months now, as I needed some "me" time and a chance to enjoy my summer for a change! And I have! Now its time to get back to the nitty gritty of life! My scrap room is in an upheaval of a mess with preparations of added storage and rearranging!

Today is reveal day for the August Sketch at My Creative Sketches! Boy, did I have fun with this one! I guess some time off did what it was supposed too! Lucia is featured here, I just adored this photo Lucia's dad took of her while they were out for ice cream! Can't you tell she loved it?

I used some yummy Prima products and some other papers I had in my stash.

Here is the super fun sketch that Liz Chidester designed for My Creative Sketches. You can see so many possibilities with this one!

Here is a close up on the main flower cluster. I kept things pretty clean and simple, for me. No gesso this time. The large blue flower was actually white and I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist in Dragon Fly. The green from the leaves bled through a bit but I loved how it looked, so no mistake made here!

I just want to briefly tell you how I made this accent piece to follow along with the sketch. I took a complimentary piece of paper about 3 inches wide and 12 inches long and proceeded to score a line every 1/4 inches and the pleated the paper. I pinched it in about 3/4 of the way down and tied a lace bow around it and added the flower from I am Roses. I then glued it down with Zip Dry Glue. Pretty simple but really effective!

The letters I used for the title were now dark enough for me so I used alcohol ink to get it the darkness/intensity I was looking for. The letters were a smooth non-porous paper and this was the best option to get the color I wanted! I used a Prima stencil with some Light Molding Paste to get some yummy added texture and then splattered some Dragon Fly Glimmer Mist. I used a drinking straw to blow the mist around on the layout.

I used some I am Roses skeleton leaves in blue to add to this smaller flower cluster, and some cute buttons I found at my Local thrift store.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and please go to My Creative Sketches blog and see all the inspiration the girls have shared. While you are there, check out the awesome prize Pam has for the luck random chosen winner! But you can't win if you don't enter! Link your layout back to the blog so we can come and leave you some love!
