The peaceful heart ~ Stuck On U Sketches~

Happy reveal Friday at Stuck On U Sketches!! You are in for a treat with this weeks sketch....... it is gorgeous! I had fun creating with it! I was at a weekend scrapbooking retreat last weekend and I used that time to create my take on the sketch!  I used Prima's Sunrise paper collection, designed by the famous Finnabar!  I thought the papers went really well with my photo, giving it a "bohemian" kind of feel!

This is my gorgeous sister in this photo....she was helping out a fellow photographer by being his model. :)  I REALLY love the pinky/purpley color that stand out on the old beat up vehicle she is leaning against and I wanted to bring that out.  I used Rangers  new Distress Paint in Raspberry on the Dusty Attic title and circle!

Here is the gorgeous sketch I was telling you about! It was designed by our famous and talented Nanne!

In this upper left hand corner you can see some of Prima's new goodies I have used.  I painted the metal flower with the pink distress paint and then took a sanding block to it to distress it. I painted the little bird with gesso.  I also thinned out some of the pink distress painted and used a dropper to drip it down the page a bit.

Close up of the Dusty Attic title.

I used some I am Roses flowers and Bo Bunny flowers here, and I added some cheese cloth threads around the cluster to fill it out more.  I also used some metal thingys [sorry, the names elude me!] designed by Finnabar!

I used some metal clocks made by Prima, designed by Finnabar.

Here you can see the squiggly doodles I did around the perimeter of the layers of paper, making each layer pop and giving them more definition. I used Martha Stewart.s butterfly punch, and also used a new mask on the background with moulding paste and a few sprites of pink Glimmer Mist!

I think I've pulled off the look I was going for, and I am so glad you stopped by to see it! Now please go to the SOUS blog, and be prepared to get your socks knocked off by the beautiful designs the other girls created with Nanne's amazing sketch!  Please link your layouts back to the SOUS blog and you could be in our top 3!  Be blessed and have a happy weekend!

It's her beauty....~My Creative Sketches April Sketch Challenge!~

Its time to reveal the April sketch of the Month for My Creative Sketches, and my interpretation of it! It was such a fun sketch to work with, and I knew exactly what papers I was going to use and what photo as well!

My layout features one of Prima's new lines, Divine, and the photo I chose to work with is one I took of Cassidy as a baby during a summer family vacation.  I wanted to try something new for me, so I fussy cut Cassidy out of the surround photo. Love the effect!
This months sketch is brought to us by Michelle Fowler! And it is a beauty!

I actually  did a lot of fussy cutting of this layout, from mini banners, to large banners, to flowers.  I did some distressed edge punching and I doodled aorund all the layers of paper and the banners.  Did a bit of masking with modeling paste and some random stamping.

I used another Kaiserkraft rubon for my title. This time I rubbed it onto a sheet of transparance and then cut around it and gluing it in place with one dab and covered it with the bird in landing.
I loved using cheese cloth for Cassidy to sit on as she is looking at the bird in the birdbath! I lightly spritzed some Glimmer Mist on thedoily that the photo is lying against. It helped to draw some of the other colors in together.  Just loved doing this layout!  Look at the flower Cassidy is holding in her hand!

close up of the banner, and you can see all the various layers underneath!

These flowers are from I am Roses, and I love them!

Here you can actually read some journaling I added....I know, a rarity for me! Love the doodling around the edges of the banners too. It helps to make it all pop!

I know Pam has a great prize package for the winner of Aprils sketch challenge, so girls, make sure you go to the blog and check out what that could be, AND look at all the inspiration of all the other designers!

I can't thank you enough for stopping by and leaving me some love so please leave the other girls some well deserved love too!
Be Blessed everyone, and have a AWESOME week!

Happily Ever After ~Stuck on U Sketches~ April 12/13 sketch

Happy reveal Friday at Stuck on U Sketches, fellow scrappers! Hard to believe its that time again! Hope most of you are actually having spring, as here in Manitoba Canada, spring still seems like a distant dream! Any ways, we have some good things to show you today!  We have a double sketch this week! Now I must confess this was WAY difficult for me as I don't scrapbook this way. This is probably only the second time I've ever done one!

I decided to follow the sketch pretty much to the letter, minus a few things, plus a few others!  I chose photos of my daughter and my son-in-law on their wedding day. They are sitting on separate benches facing each other but there is distance between them. The photos are taken from behind each of them  and you can see the other in the blurry distance. Perfect for the sketch.  I used some of Prima's new line Engraver, some card stock and some old pattern paper I had that went really well all together.

Here is the sketch, created by our very own talented Nanne! I still love her even though she put me through some stress! lol

Here is a close up of the left side of the layout.. I used some Dusty Attic Chippie and some Kaiserkraft wooden elements. The flowers are from I am Roses, and there are a couple chipboard pieces from the Engraver line.

Here is a close up of the right side of the layout. More Kaiserkraft  wooden elements, and Engraver chipboard.  I did machine stitching on the lighter background paper. The dark brown base cardstock was not the right shade of brown for me so I just used some black soot distress ink over top of it and it came out exactly how I had hoped!

I made up my first little collage of different close up pic of different areas of the layouts. Looks kind of sweet, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and encouraging me! Please go to SOUS's blog and check out what our other fabulous designers have created with this amazing double layout sketch! Make sure if you do the sketch that you link it up to Stuck on U Sketches and you could have your layout in the top 3!

Have a blessed weekend, everyone!
