We Believe ~ Stuck on U Sketches~

Happy last Sketch reveal Friday before Christmas! Can you believe it?  I can hardly believe that Christmas is only 4 days away! I am not ready  yet! Well, I hope by the time you read this, I will be!
The sketch we get to share with you this week, for me, has been a true favorite! The layout I made for it came together quite quickly for me and I enjoyed every minute of it!

This layout features a photo of years gone by, of my dear brother Brent, and I!  I think I was 3 in this photo. My mom was pain-stakingly slow at taking photos, and it looks like I had gotten distracted. Big brother is nonchalantly trying to get my attention with his fingers with out checking out himself what had distracted me! I have seen this exact pose in at least one other photo of us as young children! lol  I am using Kaiserkraft's Turtle Dove for my papers.

Here is the awesome sketch designed by Sandi Clarkson. You guys have got to give this sketch a try.... seriously!

I used a gorgeous Dusty Attic piece to frame the photo. I painted it with gesso, and then sprayed it with Mr. Huey in Blizzard.  It is very iridescent, which isn't showing up here in the photo.  To make the snow I used DecoArt Texture Thick and then sprinkled Diamond Dust on it.

The twigs and berries are by Kaisercraft, and I painted them the same way I did the DA piece. I also used DA word believe for part of my title, just painted with Gesso.

I only had one piece of this paper, so I photo copied the portion that had the children playing and then fussy cut them and applied Rock Candy Distress Stickles. I then pop dotted them up.  I applied some of the Texture Thick at the bottom to make it like they were actually in the snow.

Close up of the flower cluster and Prima resin Angel. I white washed the flowers with gesso.

I applied some Gesso to this rusty snowflake.

Thank you all so much for stopping by!  I appreciate all of you who have supported me this past year with my scrappy-ness, and I hope to see you in the new coming year! Please stop on over at Stuck on U Sketches and check out the work of the rest of the design team.....I know they have created amazing layouts!  Give the sketch a go and link up your name to the blog and you just may be one of the featured top 3! How cool would that be to end the year with?

Be blessed everyone, and have a Merry CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year!

Warm Hearted ~ Dec Sketch - My Creative Sketches~

Happy Dec sketch reveal day for My Creative Sketches!  This is always a happy day for me as I love working with sketches, and Kim Keane designs amazing sketches! They are always fun to work with.  I decided to use this photo of my great niece, Madden,[I took this one myself!] She is looking over the edge of a spiral slide at the community center where we were having our Canadian Thanksgiving gathering. It was a pretty cool day, but her smile warmed my heart!

I wanted to make this girly-ish, but not over the top girly. I tried out a new Prima mask that I just got, as well as a Prima stamp.

Here is that awesome sketch by Kim Keane that I was telling you about!  I can't wait to see what you create with it!

In this flower cluster I added and Prima Resin Fairy and a Prima wooden clock.

This banner was so fun to make!  I used a Prima package that those really cool doors come in.  They have these triangles to cut out specifically for the purpose of  making a banner. I did 2 layers, off setting them, inked the edges first, of course, and then used some Viva Decor Cream Pearl pen to make the dots across the tops.

I sprayed on some teal mist by Lindy's Gang.

This adorable butterfly is made by Reneabouquets My Glitter Coated Life. Please check out her blog and you might find something there for yourselves!

On the top of the page you can see the stamping I did. First I used this Prima stamp with a coffee colored ink, and then I re-stamped with clear embossing ink, of set a bit, and then sprinkled on  embossing powder.

I used part of a pearl flourish I bout at my local dollar store. I love the little pale pink resin roses they have set in! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I strongly encourage you to hop on over to My Creative Sketches to see what the other designers have created with the sketch.

This is the prize package that Pam is giving away to the winner of the challenge, and as always, it is gorgeous!  So when you try out the sketch, link it back to the blog so you can be entered into the challenge with a chance to win the prize!

Be Blessed everyone!

Joy, Peace, Love ~Stuck on U Sketches~

Hello everyone!  The Christmas Season is upon us so I thought it was only right to start December and reveal Friday at SOUS off with a Christmas layout!  I am using mostly Websters Pages, with a few other company's products thrown in for good measure. I snuck a Christmas photo of Cassidy  last Christmas off of Facebook. She is such a little poser!

This will be amazing to you all..... I refrained from using my distressing tool on the whole layout! I know!  I am still getting over it! lol

Here is the gorgeous sketch by our very own Sandi Clarkson!  I really enjoyed this months sketch!  We have such talented sketch artists! today's post will be mostly just pictures and a smidgen of talking.

I made the ornaments with the Cricut, starting with white cardstock, then stamping with clear embossing powder and then inking the colors I had chose.  After that I put on a thick layer of Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint, and then some more ink.

I cut the snow flakes with the Cricut as well and embossed them with Donna Salazar
  Fairy Dust.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please hop on over to Stuck on U Sketches to be inspired by the other designers, plus get to meet 3 new designers that we are adding to our team!

A Ladies Diary ~Stuck On U Sketches~

Welcome back to my scrappy blog! I hope all my American friends had a great Thanks giving and if you are doing any Black Friday shopping, I hope you find some amazing deals!

Its reveal day once again at Stuck on U Sketches, which means its Friday! I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my daughter getting ready on her wedding day for a very long time!  The right sketch and the right papers finally came along! I used Graphic 45 papers in the "A Ladies Diary" collection.

Most of my embellishments used on this layout are fussy cut from the papers.  I only had one paper of each, so in order to use both sides I made a photo copy of the pages that I wanted to fuzzy cut. Often when you photo copy a paper the color isn't as brilliant as the original, but my copy machine has a setting where I can intensify the color.  I certainly made use of that setting with this paper!

This weeks gorgeous sketch was brought to us by our own very talented Leah Schaeffer! Please check out her wonderful work on her blog!

The feature flower in this cluster was originally all cream.  I wanted to add some more color to it so I lightly misted it with Glimmer Mist. If you look in the middle of the oval picture frame you will see the wedding date.

the flower and stamp embellishment was covered with Glossy Accents, and when it was dry I bent it all over and crackled it, so it looks like a cracked mirror.

With just my scissors I scalloped the edge of the rose background paper, and inked the edges and then I manipulated the edges with my fingers to bring it to life.

For the bottom layer of doilies I changed the color with Glimmer Mist, and on the fussy cut pieces I covered them with  Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint.

In the top left hand corner I used a Prima mask with light moulding paste. Once it was dry I used a distress marker and outlined the inner edges to give it more depth.

This is what I have for you this week! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I hope you will stop by Stuck on U Sketches so you can be even more inspired by the other designers. You have 2 wks to create your interpretation of the sketch and link it back to the blog! You could have your layout featured on the SOUS blog!

Be blessed!

~My Creative Sketches~ November Sketch Challenge

Well it time for My Creative Sketches November sketch reveal! This months sketch is truly gorgeous, and I knew exactly which photo and paper line I was going to use for it! The photo is of my cousin's daughter Madelyn,[don't you just LOVE this photo?] and Prima's Romance Novel collection was made for it!

Here is the gorgeous sketch designed by Kim Keane!

I used a toilet paper roll dipped in gesso and made circles in different areas of the layout.

I used a stencil and light molding paste. Once that was dry I outlined it and colored it with a wash of Distress Stains.

I used a new EK Success punch for around the outside of the circle. I cut it up into pieces, making it look like individual flowers and inked them and scrunched them up and touched them with gesso here and there.

I fussy cut some of the papers and tucked it in beside the photo, along with a Prima clock and some flowers.

I love this flower cluster at the upper left hand corner of the photo. I touched these flowers with gesso as well.

The photo its self chose the title of the layout for me, and I had to use the Prima wooden letters for part of it!
I used gesso on the flowers and tips of the papers, and used Prima's black tassels. I used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch for the light background paper, and distressed those edges with ink and by tearing some areas.

Close up of the clock and fussy cut flower.

Thanks so much for dropping by!  Please go to My Creative Sketches and see what the rest of the design team has created to showcase the sketch and to inspire you to give it a try and possibly win this fabulous prize!

Or you could have your layout featured on My Creative Sketches! Have a blessed weekend everyone and stay safe!
