Fairy Sisters ~Stuck on U Sketches~

Its another reveal Friday at Stuck on U Sketches! We've been having wonderful fall weather here in central Canada! I want to share a layout I made from a  photo shoot my niece Kimberly did of her 2 daughters at the beginning of Sept. I used one of the new lines by Prima called Tea Thyme. So very droolworthy!

This layout features Cassidy and Lucia, dressed in their very cute tu-tu's and Cassidy wearing fairy wings. I could not resist this photo!

This is the wonderful sketch we had to work with this week designed by our very own talented Sandi Clarkson! [Yay  Sandi!] I had lots of fun with this layout cause I knew it would work with some new techniques I wanted to try out.

here you can see the large flower cluster I put together.  I made the 3 pleated flowers out of pattern paper from the collection.

i did a bit of fussy cutting and stuck it and the Prima flower behind the rolled edges of the two paper strips.

I used some more yummy Dusty Attic chippies, this time some fern leaves in various sizes.  I just painted them with Gesso and white paint
.
you can see from this photo on the grey paper that I used a mask made by Prima and used Light Molding Paste, and also add some pieces of ripped paper from a antique book.

I touched all the flowers and other embellishments with Gesso adding to the shabby chic look.

I added a piece of open zipper with a piece of doily and a Prima wooden clock, followed with some tiny roses from I am Roses.  Don't you just love those new zipper pulls from Prima?  I had to add one of those too, of course!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have been inspired even if only in some small way.  Head on over to the Stuck on U Sketches blog and check out what the other designers have made, and please give this sketch a try! I doesn't disappoint, plus it gives you a chance to have your work displayed on the blog in top 3!  Have a blessed weekend!

The Many Faces of Jacob - Sept Sketch - ~My Creative Sketches~

Woo Hoo! Its reveal day for the Sept Sketch at My Creative Sketches! Today I want to introduce to you my newest great nephew Jacob!  He is a preppy little man who takes life very seriously! What a sweetie he is!
Now boy layouts are always a struggle for me since I love flowers and pink so much. I knew this sketch would be the perfect one for me to do my first layout of Jacob.  I used Bo Bunny papers from their Gabrielle line [and NO flowers!]

Here is the sketch by the talented Kim Keane!

I did alot of stamping with paint and masking with  a new Prima mask with cogs and wheels. Nice and boyish.

I distressed the papers by ripping the paper and using Prima's distress tool on the background paper

I used lots of Dusty Attic chippies on here......all the circles and rings, plus the cogs/wheels. On the cogs/wheels I first inked them with Vintage Photo distress stain and then used Vintage photo distress embossing powder over top.  It gives it a nice rusty look! For the rings surround the photos I first painted the DA chippies with white paint, then stamped a script stamp with black permanent ink and then applied Rock Candy distress crackle paint over top.

Don't you just love that poutie bottom lip? Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to try out this fun sketch! Please check out what the other design team members have done with the sketch as I am sure you will find inspiration there as well!  Now for the rules and this months prize!

Girly-Girl ~SOUS~

Its fabulous reveal Friday once again over at Stuck on U Sketches! This weeks sketch is all about circles! This layout features Prima papers and my great niece Cassidy!  Cassidy's mom had just finished taking a photo shoot of her and her sister Lucia, so be prepared to see more of them!

I cut open a circle for the photo out of the background paper creating a fringed edge.  I then surrounded the circle opening with a Dusty Attic ring altered with white paint, then sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I then took to strings of pearls and adhered one on the inside of the circle and one on the outside.

Here is the awesome sketch by the talented Sandi Clarkson.  I stuck pretty close to the actual design.

close ups of the hand made flowers and the flower sprigs made from Memory Box die

I chose to keep the title subtle looking, basically white on white. I love these linen alphas from Prima!  I used some molding paste along with my Prima brick mask in various areas on the background paper, highlighting them with some distress inks in a muted tone.

here is another flower I made using the same paper line and the Memory Box die again.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to look at my layout.  Please head on over to Stuck on U Sketches blog and check out the other amazing work done by the design team!  Have a great weekend!
