Always and Forever ~Stuck on U Sketches~

Happy reveal Friday too you, from me and the gang at Stuck on U Sketches! We have a beautiful sketch to share today, the final sketch by our former co-creator Sandi Clarkson! She really went out with a bang! I absolutely just loved creating with this sketch, and of course the subject didn't hurt either! This layout is dedicated to my beautiful little sister, Cheryl and her now husband Jon! Cheryl was the most beautiful bride and all the wedding photos reflect that. Of course, the amazing photographer sure didn't hurt! I want to give a shout out to Phraze Photography, who took the most amazing photos! Feel free to go to their blog and see the rest of the wedding photos!

So here is the page I created! I used My Mind's Eye "Up and Away" collection. I just loved the background paper! It has so much layered detail I didn't want to add too much to cover it up!

Here is the sketch by Sandi Clarkson! You can check out her blog and see what she is up to now!

Here is a close up of the bottom left flower cluster. I used some new Prima paper roses, and some I am Roses flowers, a string of white pearl beads, and some I am Roses leaves.

this is the bottom right hand corner and to this flower cluster I added a new Prima resin heart, that I had lightly brushed with Vintage Rose chalk ink.

a little Prima resin photo corner, cute as can be!

I used a wildflower chippie by Blue Fern Studios, inked with chalk ink and the stem painted with distress paint, and then topped with Rangers Crackle Accents. Then to the flowers themselves I added a bit of  Liquitex Glass Beads texture gel. I dabbed on some gesso to the flowers and leaves..... here, there, and everywhere!

I used this new border punch from Martha Stewart [SO elegant!] and knew right away that I needed to thread some pink ribbon through those slots! It really finishes the layout, holding it all together~and was alot of work too! I added  some tiny white Prima flowers and another I am Roses flower and leaf.

I wanted to add some texture to the layout, but wanted it to be more softer and subtle so I chose to use this Prima stencil, whose pattern is actually mimicked in the background paper.. I used the Liquitex Glass Bead texture gel here as well, and lightly brushed over it with gesso.

This photo shows you the chippie title I used from Blue Fern studios. I decided to leave it in its natural state, adding just a few touches of gesso. I thought it went well with the brown of the tree trunks in the photo, and some of the kraft tones in the background paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by, please head on over to Stuck on U Sketches and see how the other designers where inspired by Sandi's sketch! I hope you will be inspired enough to try the sketch! please link your creations to the blog so you have a chance to be chosen as one of the Top 3, and so we can leave you all a little love!!

Be Blessed!

  7. This is gorgeous Bonnie. A beautiful photo surrounded by a lot of beautiful work! Loving the flower clusters and the ribbon edging. I can appreciate how long that must have taken - threading, threading and more threading - but, well worth the effort - Perfect... Hugs xx
