More projects with C'est Magnifique Kits!

Hi! I'm back today for the second time! Now I want to share with you 2 more projects I created with "Simple Elegance", the May kit from C'est Magnifique.
This layout is very special to me, as it is the first layout done with the engagement photos of my son and his lovely Fiancee! This layout is different for me, as I kept it really clean and simple. No misting! No edge distressing!  I had to ink the edges though, as I wanted the layers to pop. The color yellow is a difficult color for me to work with, not really a fan, but I really think I pulled it off with this layout!
I fussy cut out the heart from one of the papers and i did a tiny bit of masking with a stencil and molding paste on the pale yellow background, and I used the stamp and ink that came with the kit as well.  I used a few border punches, and a Memory Box die, and MS butterfly punch.  I love how the black and white photo just pops off the page!  I will have more engagement layouts to share in the future!

Here are some close ups!

I really stepped out of my comfort zone this month, not only in color, but I did some CARDS!!! Those of you who know me well, know that I don't "do" cards! Well, I have decided that its time to make some changes around here!  This is my first card of  the kit to share! It's not the best sentiment, but you must remember, I don't do cards, so I don't really own any sentiment stamps! I will get there!

I wanted to use the purple papers that came in the kits as well as use up the crocheted doilies. To make them go further, I cut them in half and got twice as many!  I fussy cut the bird on the branch out an added the purple flower spray. Everything on this card is from the kit.  I distressed the edges, but didn't ink them this time. I am happy with how it turned out!

For my second card I wanted to go more shabby chic! I used the grey print paper from the kit and used a stencil with molding paste and chalk ink. I first put the chalk in down and then added the molding paste over top of that, so the pink showing through is more soft and subtle.  I stamped around the edges with a Prima stitch stamp[ LOVE it!] and the I glued the pink rhinestone ribbon down and layered some of the chipboard embellishments that came in the kit. I outlined them with a black marker to make them more defined and to tie in with the stitching stamped around the edges.  I then cut a flower in half, and tucked it under the chipboard with some leaves, added some butterflies and softened everything with some gesso!

Here are some close ups of this card!

Thanks so much for stopping by for the second time today! I will be back tomorrow and share another engagement layout and my take on the May Sketch! See you then!
Be Blessed!

Reveal day for C'est Magnifique Kits!

Hi everyone! Its reveal time for me using the May Kit from C'est Magnifique! I've got 2 really cute layouts to share, and they feature my cousin's 2 darling girls! The papers from this kit are so soft and delicate, and the embellishments where just perfect for these 2 photos that I worked with. First is Madelyn, she is the big sister. I have scrapped this photo before, but when I saw these papers, and the sprays that came in the MMM Kit, I knew I had to scrap it again! That's a scrappers prerogative! ;) So, I really liked the netting surrounding Madelyn, and I tried to mimic that using cheese cloth. I used the mask and mists that came in the MMM kit, to give the feel of the outside, the sunshine and the blue sky.

I also tried to make it feel like the whole layout was a picture, recreating a scene with a picket fence and leaves and flowers, It has a real whimsical feel!  Hope you like!

Layout #2 features sweet baby Danika! Doesn't she look like a living doll? Could she possibly be real? She is! Of course I had to go pink with this layout. There was just no other way. I did lots of layering with the papers and embellishments that came with the various add ons. I did some random stamping, it just helps bring it all together. I absolutely LOVE the large Blue Fern Chipboard frame that came with the Embellishment Add on! Yummy! I first painted it white, then I stamped it with black archival ink and a music stamp, and then I used the embossing enamel and yellow paint that came in the MMM Kit. Super gorgeous and so much fun!  Of course, no layout of mine is complete, or rarely, anyways, with out some stencil work and misting.  I also want to give credit to Janet Haslom Photography for the beautiful photo of Danika! Check out her work!

Well, that is it for today! I'll be back tomorrow with more layouts to share, AND the full reveal of the May kit! Please come back, ya hear?

Be Blessed!

April Sketch with C'est Magnifique Kits!

Today's layout is my last one using the April kit "A Touch of Refinement" and I am using this month's amazing sketch! This layout features Brady, last, but certainly not least, in my sister medley. She is the baby of the family and a charmer to be sure! I chose to use a black and white photo as I wanted the photo to pop. I made some of flowers using some of the papers in the kit, and I also took apart the large purple Prima flower from the Flower Add on, to make it go farther.  I stayed pretty close to how the sketch was drawn.

To create this layout I used the Main Kit, the Flower Add on, the Embellishment Add on and the MMM Kit. From my stash: stencil, light modeling paste, gesso ,paper doily, memory box die, leaves, Viva Decor Pearl Pen, Archival Ink, stamp, glossy accents.

Here is the gorgeous sketch designed by Michele Singh.

We would love for you to show us how you would use this month's sketch.  Our sketch challenge is open to everyone and there are no required products.  You may use one of our kits, but you do not need to be a member of our kit club to participate.  You are welcome to use whatever you have in your scrapbook stash.  Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch, but we do want to look at your layout and be able to see that you used the sketch.

What would a challenge be without prizes, and we have 2 of them!  The winners will be selected by a random draw.  The first prize is this collection of paper, flowers, chipboard, stamps, lace and embellishments.  The winner of the prize package will also be able to shop in the C'est Magnifique Store, and have their purchases sent with the prize package, so that means you won't have to pay for shipping.

Our second prize, a $10 gift certificate to the C'est Magnifique Store,  will be awarded randomly to one of our participants who obviously uses one of our kits to create their Sketch Challenge layout.
We will also chose 5 (or maybe more) layouts to feature on our blog!
