It's a New Year!

I hope and pray you all had an awesome Christmas and a Happy New Year! We had a blizzard on Christmas day, so that sure made it interesting! I got lots of scrappy goodness for Christmas! My dear Hubby bought me a heat gun so I can start embossing and trying all kinds of new techniques using it. I also got a new cartridge for my Cricut called "Ashlyn's Alphabet", of course my Gypsy was an early Christmas present.

This is a layout I created based on a sketch by Pencil Lines Sketch # 164. They have alot of great sketches and they just got a new design team as well! Make sure you check them out! I found this old photo of me when I was a toddler, and I just couldn't resist! I just had to scrap it! I choose pattern papers by My Mind's Eye Bohemia called "Darling Daughter
" I used a circle dot rub on to focus on the picture, and on the brown scallop I used Ranger Stickles

I used my Martha Stewart puch called lacy doily and a new MS one my daughter got me for my Birthday, the butterfly border. I cut out the letters and shadows with my Cricket using Storybook and then I took a blue Souffle pen to add dots to bring in a bit more blue and to help the letters stand out more. I then took the little butterfly remnants and scattered them in the title.
I had cut out the large butterfly from the pattern paper and used Rangers Crackle Paint in Rock Candy which gave it a real distessed look. I used popdots to apply to the layout. I bought these creamy white carnations at Dollarama and inked it with Rangers Aged Mahogany Distress Ink to give it dimension and to pull the pinky rose color in. Prima Crystals make a grand appearance, another gift from my daughter! Thanks Jerica!
I had this scrolled paper embellishment in my stash and inked the edges again with the Aged Mahogany, used MM little sticker letters in different fonts for the sub title. I used my MS single butterfly punch and used the blue card stock, inked the edges in brown and added tiny white dots with my gel pen.

Here is a photo of my Christmas puppy! actually she's not a puppy anymore, but she will always be my "furbaby"! I have since given Zoe a haircut and my pictures didn't turn out so good. My sister is getting into photography and she took this photo. She's got some good talent happening! I hope she can get lots more experience!

This is a Christmas day photo me my sister Cheryl, my daughter Jerica, me, and of cours Zoe, peeking over my shoulder! I think this is worthy of a layout, don't you?
